What is The Gift?

In its simplest form, The Gift is a toy, gift and food drive with all collected items being distributed to those in need in Chatham-Kent this holiday season.

What day is The Gift Happening?

Pick up will take place beginning at noon on Saturday, November 21, 2020.

Who organized The Gift?

Citizens of Chatham-Kent and Members of the Holiday Hamper programs united for this initiative which is a first in our history!

Why The Gift?

It is estimated that a total of 30,000 people will need assistance within Chatham-Kent.  Due to various restrictions and challenges faced by the community groups and the sheer need, this is the reason “The Gift” was born.

This sounds similar to The May 16th Miracle.  Is it?

Yes.  As you may recall, on May 16th, the largest food drive in history took place in Chatham-Kent thanks to the incredible support of the entire community.  A total of 678,200 pounds of food was collected!  The one-day event provided much-needed items for the various food banks while bringing members of the community together with one common goal and purpose.  This event is similar but with toys and gifts being collected as well.
